Magnetic Scale Reducer

Warranty: 1 Year (s)

The Fernox Magnetic Scale Reducer range is suited to single appliance protection and is most notably used to protect the boiler against the damaging effects of scale. It is easily connected onto 15mm pipework and requires no further maintenance, while the positive effects continue for up to 10 years, dependent on water usage levels. Part L of the Building Regulations (England and Wales) states that in hard water areas which exceed 200ppm, provision should be made to treat feed water to water heaters and hot water circuits of combination boilers to reduce the rate of limescale formation as well as limiting its harmful effects on energy efficiency

Application, Fitting & Dosing

The Fernox Magnetic Scale Reducer is installed into the pipework using compression fittings. In an average domestic household, the Fernox Magnetic Scale Reducer provides single appliance protection. The unit is effective immediately and is guaranteed for 12 months against manufacturing defects. The unit is pressure rated to 10 bar at 20ËšC with an operating temperature of 2ËšC to 40ËšC (cold feed) and is designed for 15mm pipework. Install in compliance with WRAS installation requirements IRN R001, R120, R150, R170, R290 and/or local water regulations.

Select a straight pipe run that is long enough to position the unit, and ideally install no further than one metre before the appliance needing protection. The Fernox Magnetic Scale Reducer is designed for single appliance protection only. If protecting a boiler, install no further than one metre away.

Package, Handling & Safety

The Fernox Magnetic Scale Reducer can be installed in horizontal or vertical pipework. The unit is classified as non hazardous, but magnets may affect or interfere with sensitive mechanical and electronic instruments such as heart pacemakers, computers, magnetic media and watches. Always keep magnets at least 300mm (1 foot) away from such devices. Torque compression fitting to 25Nm.
