The funds were raised at the 8th Fernox Charity Golf Day – a much anticipated industry event that has generated £75,500 since its inception. Fernox Marketing Manager Claire Lopez presented a cheque for almost £4,000 to Shooting Star Chase. The charity provides care for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, within London and Surrey.
Alex Rennie, Head of Corporate Engagement at Shooting Star Chase, said: “We are delighted to receive such amazing support from Fernox. These funds will allow Shooting Star Chase to make a difference to the lives of the children and families we provide vital care for at our hospices and out in the community.”
Fernox Area Sales Manager Chris Broadbent also presented an equivalent cheque to Candelighters represented by CCH Leeds and G J Hulland. These heating and plumbing companies are both heavily involved in fundraising for the charity through the Gas Chat tour – a nationwide initiative that aims to raise £25,000 for charity through installing boilers in 12 properties spanning Land’s End to John O’Groats. Founded in 1976, Candlelighters delivers practical, emotional and financial support to children living with cancer and their families.
Allen Hart, Managing Director at CCH Leeds, said: “We are so grateful to Fernox and all of our associate partners for the ongoing support and donations for Candlelighters; a charity close to my heart. It will certainly be appreciated to see the contribution it will undoubtedly make.”
